Biosimilars Good Practice Day

4th March, 2015

National Metalforming Centre, West Bromwich

The topic for Keele's next 'Good Practice Day' event is 'the medicines optimisation of biosimilars'.  With a number of these medicines already available and many more in the pipeline, we will help you understand the opportunities these new medicines offer and what the potential implementation barriers might be. A key aspect is partnership working across care settings and we will explore how teams can best plan for this.

We are delighted to have the Deputy Chief Pharmacist, Dr Bruce Warner kick off the day with his insight into the medicines optimisation challenges that lie ahead for us all. Maggie Dolan from NHS Commercial Solutions and Paul Chrisp from the NICE MPC will discuss the specific challenges provided by biosimilars, while Kashap Thakrar from UCH will tell of the lessons learned from biosimilar growth hormone. After lunch Prof Ray Fitzpatrick will lead an interactive session to give the opportunity to devise an action plan to optimise the use of biosimilars within your own setting.

This is afree event for Healthcare Professionals associated with CCGs subscribingto the Keele Prescribing Support Service.  These CCGs are Birmingham CrossCity, Birmingham South Central, Dudley, Herefordshire, Sandwell and Birmingham,Shropshire, Solihull, Walsall and Wolverhampton.
